Kids Will Be Kids

Over at Life of Such, Will and dear old Mum spar over the fate of a little sister. Should she play with the drug dealer’s daughter? Find out on next week’s episode of Weeds.

Actually, I’ve never watched Weeds. Regardless, I’ve known parents in real life who smoked marijuana and raised a child. The man whom I most respect and would wish to emulate as a parent toked up. He maintained a great job, kept a tidy house, cooked amazing meals. He taught his son to think for himself and his son excelled in school and the workplace.

Drugs are chemicals, just like anything else in this world. Collections of atoms. Molecules. If you’re confused, pick up a copy of Organic Chemistry.

After you’re done with that, read PIHKAL: A Chemical Love Story and TIHKAL: The Continuation. Sasha Shulgin is one of the most brilliant organic chemists of our time. With the aid of his wife, he synthesized and tested hundreds of innovative phenylethylamines and tryptamines.

Next step, show your support for the Drug Policy Alliance. As they say, propose Alternatives to Marijuana Prohibition and the Drug War.

Martin Luther King’s birthday recently passed. Let the children play.
